Habakkuk 3:17-18

17 Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls—
18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation.

Though the fig tree does not bud
Though the fig tree does not blossom

There are no grapes on the vines
There is no fruit on the vines

Though the olive crop fails
Though the yield of the olive fails

The fields produce no food

Though there are no sheep in the pen
Though the flock is cut off from the fold

No cattle in the stalls
There are no cattle in the stalls

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord.
Yet I will choose to rejoice in the Lord.

I will be joyful in God my Savior!
I will choose to shout in exultation in the victorious God of my salvation!

The Sovereign Lord is my strength.
The Lord God is my strength, my source of courage, my invincible army.

He makes my feet like the feet of a deer.
He has made my feet steady and sure like hinds’ feet.

He enables me to tread on the heights.
He makes me walk forward with spiritual confidence on my high places of challenge and responsibility.

Habakkuk 2:4

“Behold the proud,
His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith.

See, the enemy is puffed up.
Look at the proud one.

His desires are not upright.
His soul is not right within him.

But the righteous person will live by his faithfulness.
But the righteous will live by his faith in the true God.
