1 Peter 2:21
21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:
22 “Who committed no sin,
Nor was deceit found in His mouth”;
Christ suffered for us, leaving us an example, that we should follow in His steps.
Christ suffered for us, leaving us an example, so that we may follow in His footsteps.
“He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in His mouth.
He committed no sin, nor was deceit ever found in His mouth.”
And they made His grave with the wicked—
But with the rich at His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was any deceit in His mouth.
9 Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be [h]condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! 10 My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. 11 Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.
As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered.
You know we call those blessed, happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God. who were steadfast and endured difficult circumstances.
You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about.
You have heard of the patient endurance of Job and you have seen the Lord’s outcome, how He richly blessed Job.
The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.
The Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.
But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
Jesus means The Lord is Salvation.
Jesus saves us from our sins.
Jesus is Immanuel – God with us.
